Help Cleaning The Oceans!

Drink in Style is incredibly proud to be a member of the 1% for the Planet global network.

We chose to join the 1% for the Planet movement  because we believe nonprofit organizations play a critical role in solving the challenges facing our planet, and our core work is to grow the corporate support that enables these nonprofits to empower greater change.

"Currently, only 3% of total philanthropy goes to the environment and, only 5% of that comes from businesses. The planet needs bigger support than this, and our growing network of business members is doing its valuable part to increase giving and support on-the-ground outcomes.

We're excited to welcome Drink in Style to our global movement," says Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet."

By contributing 1% of their annual sales, thousands of 1% for the Planet members have raised over $265 million to support approved environmental nonprofits around the globe. Nonprofits are approved based on referrals, track record and environmental focus. Thousands of nonprofits worldwide are currently approved.

Plastic Polluted Ocean

Sad Truths about Pollution

According to WWF

- 85% of Australian seabirds are affected by plastic pollution

Out at sea, plastic is deadly. Marine animals like turtles can choke on plastic bags mistaken for jellyfish, seabirds get entangled in drifting fishing gear, and larger animals like whales can starve because their stomachs are so full of plastic debris they’ve eaten.

Microplastics can be just as fatal. Smaller creatures like plankton can ingest it, making its way up the food chain and onto our plates.

It’s clear that urgent action needs to be taken to solve this problem.

- 95% of plastic packaging is discarded after a single use. Single-use plastic products are convenient, right? While they might make our daily lives easier, they’re costly to our environment. Most plastics don't biodegrade, so unless they’re recycled, upcycled or repurposed, they pose a significant threat to marine wildlife. Globally, more than eight million tonnes of plastic ends up in our ocean every year.

That’s why it’s so important that single-use plastics are phased out or given a new life within a circular economy. We need to make sure that they don’t end up discarded in landfills, in our oceans and endangering our precious wildlife.

How can we stop this?

The answer is :

Small decisions like choosing a Eco-Friendly product, using reusable bags, reusable bottles, cups, recycling scraps of plastic, saying no to single use, can all make a huge difference for the future of our planet.

It’s the easiest thing we can do to make a positive impact and ensure that we don’t let nature go to waste.

On A Mission To  Start Helping Clean The World's Oceans With Floating Rubbish Bins!

It may seem like a contradiction but at the end of the day, marine litter should not be in the water in the first place.

The idea was if there was rubbish bins on land, why not in the water? Over time, the scope of the project evolved into a comprehensive research, technology, and educational initiative with global interest and reach.

Seabin Foundation has already removed over 1000  tonnes of trash from the ocean!!

It all started from a passion for the oceans and the hard realization that human over-consumption and waste mismanagement was killing our oceans.

This is how, Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski, two avid water lovers created the “Seabin” that would collect trash, oil, fuel and detergents.

Seabin acts as a floating rubbish collector that are cleaning up our oceans, without harming the marine life.
